Frequently Asked Questions
The free patch phase (Standard Support) covers all CVEs in Google ASB (Critical, High, Medium, and Low). The paid patch phase (Extended Support) covers Critical and High, as these pose the greatest security risk for enterprise deployments. Encryption/network-related CVEs rated Medium by Google are treated as High priority.
The OTA delivery capability is free. During the free patch phase, all patches are delivered via OTA at no charge. After Google ends official support, you must purchase Extended Support to continue receiving patches via OTA.
Three plans are available: 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year terms. The 3-year plan (covers through EOSP) offers the best value. Please contact iMin Customer Success or your account manager for current pricing.
Yes, incremental purchases are possible. Note that total cost for incremental purchases exceeds a single 3-year plan. We recommend choosing based on your actual project timeline.
No. iMin provides 3 years of completely free extended security patches for all Android 13 devices (regardless of ship date), from 2026-01-31 to 2029-01-31. No purchase or action required.
EOSP = Free Patch End + 3 years, anchored to Google's official timeline, and applies uniformly to all devices on the same Android version. For example, all Android 13 devices have EOSP = 2029-01-31, regardless of purchase date.
You can query via: ① iMinkit Device Management System by serial number or batch; ② Device list in your contract appendix; ③ Batch listing from iMin Customer Success. Once a device is activated and online, iMinkit automatically displays ship date, EOSP, and remaining usage period.
Yes. This policy applies to all iMin GMS-edition devices already shipped, including those purchased before this policy's release. iMin automatically calculates and displays EOSP and remaining usage period in iMinkit for every device.
Swan 2 ships with Android 13, Free Patch End = 2026-01-31, EOSP = 2029-01-31. iMin provides 3 years of completely free extended security patches for all Android 13 devices until 2029-01-31 — no Extended Support purchase needed. From early 2024 shipment, this covers approximately 5 full compliance years. For projects requiring more than 6 years, consider models with longer SoC paths (Swan 3 Pro with G720, Swan 3 / Heron 1 with A733).
Three options: ① Choose long SoC path models (G720 / MT8781 / A733, etc.) — purchasing 1–2 Android major version upgrades during the device lifecycle can cover 7+ years; ② Plan migration to next-generation devices before EOSP (iMin provides migration assistance); ③ Large-order customers can sign special agreements with iMin commercial team for customized extended compliance. Please contact iMin Customer Success to find the best solution.
After iMin completes adaptation and passes GMS certification, the new Android version image is distributed via the OTA platform, where you can batch-approve or plan phased rollouts. Each major version upgrade is an independent project — contact iMin for pricing.
Log in to iMinkit Device Management System. The device detail page shows: ① Ship date; ② Current Android version; ③ Free Patch End date; ④ EOSP; ⑤ Extended Support purchase status; ⑥ Remaining usage period. Batch queries are also available via the iMinkit API.
Two methods: ① Purchase together with devices, adding the Extended Support SKU to your device order; ② At any time before that Android version's EOSP, place a separate order via iMin Customer Success. iMin will sign a separate Extended Support service contract, priced by quantity and invoiced accordingly (not bound to specific serial numbers).
Yes. Extended Support can be purchased at any time before the Android version's EOSP. If purchased after FPE, service starts from the purchase effective date, up to EOSP.
Yes. Extended Support is purchased by quantity, not bound to specific serial numbers. You can assign coverage to any devices in the OTA platform without pre-specifying serial numbers at purchase.
This policy may be adjusted over time. However, once commitments for already-sold devices are written into contracts and the iMinkit system (including EOSP dates and Extended Support terms), iMin will not unilaterally shorten them. Policy changes only apply to new orders placed after the revision date.
