Coupons were once a major influence on many people’s purchasing habits. There were even some people known as extreme couponers, they still exist and they even have shows that are based off of their habits. They spend hours of their day to look for coupons that have special deals for whatever they are looking for. However I believe that coupons are a thing of the past. I believe this because it takes a significant amount of time to find a coupon that is actually worth printing or cutting it out.
A note from us at I’m In: The I’m In Coupon App makes it easy for you to access coupons for in store savings. The power is in the palm of your hand!
Many people today don’t have much free time at all and if they do they usually spend it watching televisions or doing things they enjoy. Cutting coupons or searching the web for coupons take a lot of time. Time is crucial in today’s day in age and I would rather use my time to work and make money then to search for coupons. It is also hard to find coupons that I actually want. There are almost never coupons for things that I want to buy so it is much easier for me to wait for it to go on sale, or just simply save my money for it.
I never use coupons unless my mom specifically gives them to me to buy her something at the store. I find them to be a huge waste of time, for deals that usually don’t save you a lot of money. I realize that money is extremely important and you need to be a smart spender in order to have money for emergencies. I believe that there are many other ways to do this besides using coupons. When going to the store you need to be picky and only buy things that you need and not what you want. Having this self-control can save you a lot of money. It is also easier to buy the off brand product or wait for the product to go on sale and you can buy it at a discount.
Coupons rarely influence my decisions because I think that they are just a waste of time and a waste of paper. There are always coupons that are thrown away and put on paper that could easily be save and used for something else. Recycling is very important to me and I believe that many coupons are not recycled and they are just thrown in the trash. This is contributing to deforestation which is a huge problem in the world right now. Many animals are losing their homes to companies that tear down wildlife in order to make paper or land for a new store. I think that this is a huge problem and coupons are contributing to it.
Even though coupons were once really important I think my generation will be the ones who make them less popular. Many young teenagers already don’t have the time to look for coupons and they will not want to use all of their time to find these coupons. This will cause stores to turn away from coupons and move to having random sales throughout the day. I believe that this will be much more useful and if the stores want they can post the sales on their website which will save paper. The world today is turning all electronic so that will more than likely be the option that stores will turn to. There are many ways that they can help stop deforestation that will not cost them any money. In fact I think that it could even save them money, they wouldn’t have to pay to put their coupons in the newspaper or whatever magazine that they use.
Coupons have never really influence my decisions and I don’t think that they ever will. I always just save my money or wait until the product I want goes on sale. These ways save me a lot of time and sometimes they even save me money. I believe that I will continue to shop like this for the rest of my life and that there are many people just like me, who will never let coupons influence their decisions.
