Coupons have a large role in influencing my family’s purchasing decisions. We use coupons all the time. My family was not blessed with a lot of money, but for what we have, we are thankful and blessed. My mother has always been into couponing, and she also got the rest of my family into couponing. When we were younger, we pretty much lived off coupons. My mother would always search the ads and stores for any kinds of deals, and if there was one, she would make the most of it. I remember that as a kid the only times I would get a special treat was when it was cheaper than the original price, so naturally, I would always hope for candy coupons or any coupon that involved something sweet. For my mom, buying something full price was a last resort – it was rare. Now that we are older, we have our own money, so we are able to buy more. We do not have to rely on our parents as much, so their lives are a bit easier; nevertheless, we still coupon. We coupon because couponing allows us to be able to afford more items, buy more in quantity, and to save money.
Couponing allows us to buy items that we originally would have never purchased. Not everyone can afford all the luxury items that are found in stores, and couponing allows families that are not able to afford as much to have those luxury items for less. It does take a little bit of time and dedication to find all those coupons, but at then end, it is all worth it. If you are not able to buy items for full price, then take a little of your time and find some discounts. When you are able to reduce the amount of money you have to spend each month on groceries, you will be so thankful.
A note from us at I’m In: We can make your grocery budget go farther with our grocery coupons!
Couponing also allows my family to buy more of one product. There are so many deals out there that give us that chance. For example, there are “buy 1, get 1 free” coupons, “buy 1, get 1 fifty percent off” coupons, and “buy 4 for 5 dollars” coupons. These types of coupons allow families to get more of that product for a more affordable and convenient price. At the store, I love to buy candy – who doesn’t? The candy that I love to buy is usually around two dollars a bag. Sometimes if I am lucky, I can find a coupon for those candies that lets me get four bags of candy for only five dollars. This means that each bag of candy only costs me a dollar and twenty five cents – plus tax but let’s not count that. All in all, buying more in quantity for less is so useful in the long run.
Lastly, couponing allows my family to save money. I am pretty sure that everyone out in the world likes to save money, so when we get the chance to do that, it is a deal maker for us. When you are able to purchase a product and not have to pay full price, it is so nice. With the money that is being saved, we could use it to buy more items or do whatever we would like with it. It does not matter what we do with the money we saved, as long as it is there, it gives us more options. As a family who spends a lot of money on groceries, it is so wonderful to be able to chop off a good chunk of that money and use it for something else. Money really adds up, and even the smallest of savings is helpful.
Overall, couponing is a blessing for families all around because it allows us to buy, get more, and to save money. We are able to get more for less.
