$1000 Scholarship – College Students


“Do coupons influence your purchasing decisions… Why, or why not?” is an online source for free coupons. We negotiate discounts that are arranged into categories of coupons which are easy to find and available the same day you find them. Online and printable coupons are sent to patrons via e-mails or text messages twice weekly. At, we know you save money with our coupons, but we want to know your assessment of whether coupons influence your purchasing decisions.Why do you look for coupons prior to shopping? If coupons are never part of your purchasing routine, tell us the reasons why this is the case. Are certain barriers preventing you from using coupons while purchasing products? Does your decision to purchase a product ever hinge on the possession of a coupon for that item?Finding up-to-the-minute coupons is always a challenge for frugal consumers, and entities, such as, give those shoppers who want to save money a method to accomplish this goal.


Application Method:

Submit an essay containing a minimum of 650 words on the topic “Do coupons influence your purchasing decisions…why, or why not?” The best essay will be chosen as detailed in “Selection Process” outlined below.

Selection Process:

Submitted essays will be published on the website, allowing the public to vote on the essay they feel portrays the most thoughtful response. A vote can either be a “Like” through Facebook, or a “tweet” from a unique Twitter account. The staff will select a winner from the 10 essays receiving the highest votes. We reserve the right to not publish all essays submitted for consideration.

Selection of winning submissions is entirely at the discretion of will contact the winner(s) via the email address used for submission. Winner(s) will be confirmed ONLY after providing proof of enrollment in the form of a copy of a tuition bill OR letter of proof from the accredited United States college, university or high school at which the winner(s) is enrolled. Upon confirmation of enrollment, winner(s) will be publicly announced on, and will mail the winner(s) the check.



Any college student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in the fall of 2014 or the spring of 2015 at any accredited college, university, or trade school in the United States.


A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded, based on an essay written from the topic “Do coupons influence your purchasing decisions…why, or why not?”


The deadline for submitting this scholarship is December 31, 2014.


Applicants must e-mail a written essay of a minimum of 650 words.


The $1,000 Scholarship will be awarded in the name of the winner and the college he/she is attending. It can be used toward college tuition and/or books.
