Coupons are vouchers that entitle a holder to a specific discount when purchasing a product. Saving money, especially in today’s day and age, is important and by using coupons everyone can do this. Couponing takes time, and extreme couponing takes even more time, but the end result is completely worth it. A lot of people don’t look for or use coupons because of the time it takes. The minute someone experiences the result of couponing, it is likely that they will never stop.
I am a full time college student. Do you know a synonym for that sentence? I am broke. Couponing for me is important because I go to a community college where I don’t have the option of a dining hall. I live with a roommate where I have to purchase my own food and make my own meals. With my use of coupons, I can buy meals for a week for less than twenty dollars. This allows me to save money for other things such as textbooks and money to pay back my student loans.

There are coupons for everything: food, household items, pet supplies, and even electronics. Who doesn’t want to save money? People who claim they don’t have time to coupon do not realize how much extra money they could have in their pocket just by participating in couponing. Typically, if I do not have the coupon for the more expensive kind of toilet paper, I will not purchase it simply because it is an expense I don’t want to have. If I had the coupon, the deal would most likely be worth it, since most coupons are worth it. I would then go ahead and make the purchase.
All coupons are worth it, because they all save people money, but you have to choose wisely. Certain coupons are for certain people. For example, coupons for large amounts of food may not be good for a single or double person household because food may go bad. Household items, on the other hand, do not go bad so buying these in large quantities because you have a coupon is a smart idea.
I personally look for coupons because I was raised in a poor household where couponing was huge. My mother scraped for money because we did not live lavishly, or even comfortably. If my mother found a way we could save money, she would take advantage of it. Couponing is perfect, free way to put more money into your pocket.
Couponing is like a part time job and it should be considered a sport or a hobby. With knowledge, time, and practice, a four person family can live off of a grocery budget of seventy five dollars per week. Finding coupons is not hard; they are in the newspaper, flyers, magazines, online, in the actual store, and they are also located in doctor’s offices or pharmacies.
Disorganization is why many beginner couponers give up. There are several different ways to organize your coupons and organized couponers are the ones who succeed. Boxes, binders, or filing systems are good ways to organize your coupons. Knowing the store’s policy and recognizing if the coupon and the sale are a good deal or not are also important aspects of couponing.
Again, coupons are vouchers that give the holder an entitlement to a discount when purchasing a certain product. Couponing is important because it can save you money. College students should especially consider couponing since most college students are going to come out of school with immense amounts of debt and couponing is way to save money while attending an educational institution.
