Money is a huge deal here in America. Anyone will use coupon just to save 5 cents. They are there to help, even that five cents can add up to thousands of dollars. I believe coupons do sway the decision of what you are going to by. Like if something were on sale, you would pick the item with the sale price just because it’s cheaper. Same thing with coupons, if you have a coupon for something a little cheaper, I would totally buy that one.
For example, say there is two kinds of peanut butter, One is Jiff, typical brand and very popular brand for peanut butter but more expensive. If I had a coupon book and I was going through them and I can upon a coupon for a store brand peanut butter and it is a dollar off. My personal reasoning says get the store brand, it’s cheaper and all of it tastes the same anyways. That’s one dollar you save which if you use a numerous amount of coupons the total really does go down. It’s being smart about your money and also saves you more than you know.
Another way it does influence your purchasing decisions is because this time and age everyone is greedy, money hungry and tries to get their hands on as much as they can. Coupons have become a huge part in today’s society. We all get coupons books in the mail, and you can print them online or get them in the newspapers. When you see a more coupons for a certain place, you think, I’m going to shop there because I have coupons and I will save more money. So say you were going to Target to get a movie, you just happen to go online and seed a coupon for Wal-Mart for 25% off. Well to me thats saying oh I can get the movie for 25% cheaper then I would at target so they choose there. It totally has a big impact on where and what you are going to buy.

In the wealthier crowd I have noticed that they tend to not use coupons as everyone else would. Some people rely on coupons to get what they need and shop strictly based on coupons because that’s all they can afford. People will do everything they can to make sure that price goes down. For the wealthy it’s a different story. When you have money to spend, those are the people who buy that Jiff brand just because the can. They don’t even look at the price they just grab what looks more appealing and more expensive. They don’t need to save that extra 10 cents or 25 cents.
Coupons are money, some people look at it that way and some people don’t. I believe coupons are smart shopping. If you want to save money, yes use a coupon and let it affect what you buy. Some people don’t have choices to get the more expensive kind and they live just fine. I believe coupons help society and it has become such a huge thing. People in store will even complain and yell at you if you don’t use it correctly or the don’t save that 5 cents they were looking for. People will go crazy just to save money and that is the world we live in now.
Depending on the coupons you have, there are many different kinds. A coupon that says save 5 cents on a gallon of milk is way different then buy one get one free. You can see why people get mad over there kinds of things though because coupons may be saving someone’s life, or getting you barely by or getting you what you need. Say a bottle of water is $1.00 and you have a coupon 50% off. Well that is saving half a dollar and if you use coupons like that a lot, you could be saving thousands of dollars.
