My Life of Coupons
There are many people in this world today who struggle to get by. My family is one of those families. I have been an only child with a single mother most of my life and I now have a five year old sister. Money can be really tight in the household. Coupons offer an option allowing my family to save money for other important bills and events in life. My families use coupons in many different aspects of life but use them most in retail stores, grocery stores, and restaurants.
Coupons can be extremely helpful in saving money when stocking a house with supplies. Many large market retailer’s offer various coupons that make items very cheap. My family will get coupons and do large shopping trips to stock the house with supplies for a long time. We gather coupons and wait for sales to appear so the items are being sold at the best price. Because Wal-Mart is the best at offering coupons and sales near our house that is where we shop for our house supplies. This has helped to make my family very aware of the market for items and has taught us to predict when certain items will go on sale. The couponing has also taught my family to be very aware of our money and bank accounts. I personally keep a tight bank account so I can save for future college expenses. Coupons have caused me to save money better and have caused my family to search for the best savings option for house supplies in our area.
A note from us at I’m In: We can help you save on groceries, too!
Coupons are extremely effective when shopping for groceries. Giant grocery store offers many coupons and their deals are better than Wal-Mart’s. Because Wal-Mart does not have better deals than Giant food stores, coupons cause me to shop at Giant for food supplies. Also because many coupons are for canned or food that will not perish for a long time, be buy a large amount of food so that there are fewer shopping trips. Coupons on perishable food such as deli meats determine which food we will get each week. If salami is on sale and there is a coupon for it, then salami is the meat of the week. When buying foods coupons do influence what is bought. Our meals at home do seem to revolve around coupons to an extent.
Restaurants are the final area where coupons are used. My family does not eat out very often but when we do it is because we found a coupon for a restaurant. These come very sporadically and are offered by many different restaurants. In addition to coupons, restaurants that offer options such as 2 meals for $20 offer much more appeal. My family will eat at Apple Bee’s because of this reason.
