Greg has enjoyed a career spanning 25 years in banking and private equity. In 1990, he and Jonathan Nelson created Providence Media Partners which grew to become one of the country's largest private equity concerns under the name Providence Equity Partners. The firm concentrated on investments in communications and media properties. Investors in Mr. Barber's capital pools included university endowment funds, public pension funds and major insurance companies. In more recent years, Mr. Barber has invested his own capital in a variety of entities operating in the telecommunication, internet, and real estate areas. He has also been an active member of the Boston College Board of Trustees with a particular focus on the university's athletics activities.
John is currently the Chairman of the Board and Founding Partner of M|C Communications, the premier medical meeting and education company in the United States. Prior to founding the company in 1994, John spent ten years in both the publishing and tradeshow divisions of Reed Elsevier Publishing, PLC. M|C Communications was acquired by Bain Capital Partners in 2004. John has also served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Independent Show Organizers ("SISO") for the past six years and was its chairman from 1998 to 2000.
Brian is the Founder of BrandNewMattter, an online publishing platform and domain owner. Previously Brian was Chief Executive Officer of Openlist, the web's premier vertical search and discovery engine. In this role he led the turnaround and sale of the company to Marchex, a publicly traded company. Brian also served as Vice President of Marketing for Priceline where he was responsible for managing Priceline's marketing efforts, affiliate channel development and advertising sales. During this period he also directed Priceline's strategic acquisitions including lowestfare.com, the reservation site that faciliated Pricline's expansion into the retail airline ticketing business. Brian is currently on the board of Advisors for Tickets-For-Charity and Where I've Been, LLC. He previously served on the Connecticut Better Business Bureau's Board of Advisors.
