First stop this morning is Fattoria la Castellina in the lovely village of Castellina in Chianti and a tasting in the cellar of the 15th century palace. After a sensational lunch with their wines, you're off to the Folonari family's Tenuta di Nozzole. The Folonaris have been producing wine since the late 1700's. There, you will also taste wines from their other holdings, including the Supertuscan Cabreo. The days of firewater (paint thinner) Grappa are over - or at least they should be. This afternoon's visit to the Bonollo Distillery shows you the grappa making process, while giving you the chance to taste some of their excellent single variety grappas.

Luca Gattavecchi is a traditional producer steeped in generations of wine making. You'll enjoy lunch at his cellar in the heart of Montepulciano, and then get to visit Podere Poggio Alla Sala.
