Lace up the hiking boots and head out after breakfast for one of the best hikes in the Adirondacks! The 7.8 mile hike up the Sleeping Beauty Mountain Loop (moderate difficulty) yields great rewards -the best views in the southern Adirondacks. The trail is located approximately 18 miles from Dunham's Resort (45 minute drive). To access the trail from Dunham's: Head northeast on RT-9L toward Dunhams Bay Rd. (6.9 miles). Turn left at RT-149 (1.5 miles). Turn left at Buttermilk Falls Rd. (3.1 miles). Buttermilk Falls Rd turns slightly left and becomes Sly Pond Rd. (5.7 miles). Continue on Shelving Rock Rd. (.7 miles).
